The word psyche in Greek means ‘soul’ – by metaphorical extension it translates to ‘butterfly’, the symbol of transformation and a person’s inner essence. The Greek myth of Eros and Psyche is an allegory of the soul’s journey: tested by impossible tasks and enduring suffering, the soul ultimately achieves divine wholeness.

She dissolves. She evolves.

And she begins again.

Maybe it’s time to help her.

Or even better, maybe it’s time to make the impossible, more possible.

5 minutes more is a dance theatre performance that explores the weight and impact of accumulated stress on the contemporary body, a body that must constantly adapt, perform and strive.

The work follows a young body through different moments of its existence, from the very first moment, perhaps even before it. It depicts forms of inner tension, fear, and the hunger of unmet needs. It reflects external pressures and the constant question: How can I be enough?

In contrast to this continuous self-doubt, the piece seeks to ask:

Can the body reclaim its autonomy?

Can it resist the imposed rhythms?

Or will it remain caught in the loop, always asking for just 5 more minutes?
